I hope you feel proud of the role that you are playing as an FCER Supporter. Your support of FCER is an investment that has a tremendous impact on the future our children and grandchildren.
You don’t have to look far to see what you have helped accomplish. This spring, as our yards begin to fill with hummingbirds and songbirds, and fresh air flows through our open windows, you are experiencing the results of your dedication to this inspiring project. The Children’s Eternal Rainforest–the birds that call it home, the oxygen that it produces–it’s all in your backyard! I hope you will feel moved to make a gift today so that this will always be the case.
This year, at our annual Wild About Conservation event in Saint Louis, world renowned conservation biologist Dr. Thomas E. Lovejoy made it clear that we can choose the legacy that we will leave to future generations, and that your support of FCER is the choice to create a sustainable, healthy future for us all. As Dr. Lovejoy explained, “You can’t heal the planet without taking care of tropical rainforests.”
This is exactly what your continued support helps FCER do. When you contribute to our conservation efforts, there are so many ways that you have an impact because you:
- Place rainforest habitat under conservation: With your help, more rainforest has been placed under protection every year since FCER was founded. The clean air, fresh water and biodiversity that results has far-reaching and lasting benefits.
- Support reforestation: The Children’s Eternal Rainforest has given away more than a million trees since the project began to help local landowners undertake reforestation efforts of their own.
- Provide education: We all know how critical education is to our children’s and grandchildren’s future. FCER has supported the educational and fundraising efforts of over 200 schools nationwide; created a partnership with the Montessori Institute for the Science of Peace that will engage countless schools in conservation education, scientific study and environmental engagement; and offered world-renowned speakers like Dr. Thomas E. Lovejoy and Dr. Peter Raven to raise awareness of pressing conservation issues like global population growth, climate change and the impacts of rainforest deforestation.
This important work would not be possible without people like you who love nature and its wonders, and are committed to saving one of our world’s most fragile and endangered ecosystems–the Children’s Eternal Rainforest.
This is an incredibly hopeful time. We know that with your help future generations will look outside of their windows, walk through the breeze in their yards to the singing of songbirds, and have the same sense of hope and possibility that spring brings to us today.
So we ask that you please take a moment right now to make a contribution that will ensure this future. We look forward to keeping you updated on all that you’ve helped accomplish, and we thank you for your continued and ongoing support.
