Dear Forest Friends,
The new year marks our 10th Anniversary and we are kicking off a new decade of conservation with some exciting reasons to celebrate.
We have a fresh new look, name and URL that more closely reflects our mission to protect, support and expand the Children’s Eternal Rainforest in Monteverde, Costa Rica. Carrying on the work started by our founders, Rachel and Dwight Crandell, we look forward to making Friends of the Children’s Eternal Rainforest (http://friendsoftherainforest.org) known worldwide as a symbol of hope and compassion that will continue to inspire individuals around the globe to take action to protect life on our planet.
Our new logo reflects two of the creatures that find safe haven and much needed sustenance in the pristine habitat protected by the Children’s Eternal Rainforest—the playful Capuchin monkey and the stunning Resplendent quetzal, regarded by many as the most beautiful bird in the world. Together with our Costa Rican partner, the Monteverde Conservation League, we will continue the important conservation work that safeguards these creatures and push forward new initiatives to expand and protect the forest. All of this is made possible by your generosity and support.
Our name has changed, but our mission remains the same. We look forward to joining with you in another decade of protecting nature and saving life!
For the forest,
Jane Oliver, Chairman of the Board of Directors
