Cancellation Policy

Due to the complexity of arranging foreign programs the following cancellation policy is required:

• Cancellations made over 90 days prior to the departure date of the trip will be granted a full refund minus the $100 non-refundable reservation fee.

• Cancellations made 60-90 days before the trip date will receive a refund minus the $400 deposit.

• Cancellations made 30-60 days prior to the starting date are subject to a handling fee equaling 50% of program cost.

• Cancellations made less than 30 days prior to the departure date for the trip will not be eligible for refund.

Friends of the Rainforest highly recommends that trip participants purchase travel insurance (usually available at a nominal cost) which can reimburse some or all of their travel costs if their trip gets interrupted or canceled.

Notification of cancellations must be sent to trips@friendsoftherainforest.org or processed by phone at (314) 941-1257.

In the event that a trip does not achieve sufficient participation, Friends of the Rainforest reserves the right to cancel the trip and refund all payments to the travelers. Additionally, we strive to give travelers the trip as advertised. Still, the itinerary is to be considered flexible and some changes might have to be made due to circumstances beyond the control of the operator. Substitutions are determined by the tour operator and will be of equal value and quality.
