Due to the complexity of arranging foreign programs the following cancellation policy is required.

When a cancellation is made:

• Over 90 days prior to the departure date of the trip: participants will receive a full refund minus a $100 non-refundable reservation fee.

• 60-90 days prior to the departure date: participants will receive a full refund minus the $400 deposit

• 30-60 days prior to the departure date: participants are subject to a handling fee equaling 50% of program cost.

FCER highly recommends trip participants to purchase travel insurance (usually available at a nominal cost) which can reimburse some or all of their travel costs if their trip gets interrupted or cancelled.

Notification of cancellations must be sent to FOTR Staff. Please email your trip contract person or trips@friendsoftherainforest.org. Cancellations can be processed by phone at (314) 941-1257.

In the event that a trip does not achieve sufficient participation, FCER reserves the right to cancel the trip and refund all payments to the travelers. Additionally, we strive to give the travelers the trip as advertised, but the itinerary is to be considered flexible and some changes might have to be made due to circumstances beyond the control of the operator. Substitutions are determined by the tour operator and will be of equal value and quality.
